Anzac Day, April 2012

The Follett boys made us proud this Anzac Day.  We had a Kea, Cub and Scout all in the Parade and Ceremony.  The event started for William on the Tuesday night.  After dinner I dropped him down at the Den where he set up for some fun and a sleepover.  We met William at the Parade starting point.

There was lots of preparation in sewing badges on shirts and ironing the uniform.  (Mum even had to purchase three pairs of black pants so the boys could look nice in their uniforms.)

The different groups assembled at the parade starting point on the corner of Williams and Bracken Street.  It was a beautiful warm and sunny morning.  It was a perfect day to remember the soldiers who had gone away and fought in the war for us.

Daniel and the other Keas.

Jack lead the Scouts with Callum.

The officials lead the parade down Bracken street to the Anzac Memorial.

Our friend Josh Lloyd was in the ATC group.

Here is Luca Bushnell and the girl guides (Dan and Luca were great mates at kindy).

First come the Scouts ...
Here's Jack leading the parade alongside Tania Fraser (my bestest buddy right through school :))

then the Cubs ...
William was hard to photograph.  Every time I found him he seemed to disappear.

followed by the Keas...
Go Dan -you're marching so well.

Everyone did a fantastic job.  We all remembered those who hand gone to war and gave their lives for us. We also remembered those who had returned home and how their lives had changed forever.

Don't they look sharp!!!
