Good fun reliable boat

4.5 metres (14.5 feet) on recently overhauled trailer.

Motor: 1994 Oil Injected Johnson 70 hp

Well maintained with recent full service and receipts.

The trailer is registered and warranted and has brand new wheels, rollers, and led submersible lights.

The boat travels well in most conditions. Well looked after and cleaned after each use.

We hadn't intended to sell the boat and have just last week picked up the upgraded trailer. We've really enjoyed this boat. Definitely a great way to play as a family .... water skiing, knee boarding, biscuit, fishing and cruising.

New Boat ...

"How can Todd look this happy?" you ask.  Well that's a result of a dream and a very hair raising Trade me auction on Friday night!!

This all lead onto an early start (5.20am) for the Follett family on Saturday morning as we got up and headed North to collect our new purchase ...

Engine:225 HP, Outboard

225 HP JOHNSON MOTOR
POWER ASSISTED STEERING
SKI POLE

TANDEM AXLE TRAILER

FAMILY BOAT, RARELY USED. USED ONLY ON LAKE TAUPO.

We drove to Palmerston North, waited for the bank to open and then continued on to Turangi.  Checked the boat, paid the money and then headed home.  Arrived back at 6pm, getting Olivia to work not too late considering!

Sunday saw the opening of the Wellington Water Ski Club for the season and the Follett's eagerly headed to the Club hoping to get the boat in the water.  Unfortunately it was a strong southerly and we had to wait from 10.30 am - 3.00 pm before the water was okay.

That was fine as the AGM was on at lunchtime.  We met a nice group of people and here you now see new Committee Member, Todd Follett (membership officer).  We're so proud of him for stepping up and putting himself out there for the betterment of our boating community!

Jack had to leave the Club to head off on his five day hockey tournament in Levin.  We really missed him during the afternoon as it was such a family orientated adventure.  I'm sure that he'll enjoy his first time out all the same :)

The water finally died down and Todd felt comfortable in launching the new boat into the harbour.  He took it for a ride and all was well.

It was then time for the rest of the family to climb aboard.  We zoomed into Wellington, pocked our nose into Oriental Bay and then around to Evans Bay.  The water was nice, however it was a bit cold .... and a lot faster than Deirdre had planned!

Once we left there we came around the Eastbourne side of Sommes Island and back to the Ski Club.  It was certainly a lot easier than our other boat.  I wonder who will be keen to have the first ski?

Hutt Valley U13 Rep Team

Jack got the call in early August that he was in the Under 13, Hutt Valley Representative Hockey team.  The team was put together quite late in the season, but as his Hutt Intermediate hockey was nearly finished the news was very well received.

The team trains from 6.30 - 8pm on Wednesday nights.  Here's Jack in his first team kit (he's now had three).

On the 19th of August he attended the Mini Curtis Tournament in Wanganui at the Wanganui Colliegate School Turf.  They played Wanganui at 12.30am and Hawkes Bay at 3.30pm.

The team then went back on 8-9 of September for a Whanganui Mini Tournament.  They stayed in cabins at the Top 10 Holiday Park.  They played Rangatiki at 7pm on the 8th and Horowhenua at 10.15am on the 9th.  It was a very wet trip and both games were played in the rain.

We all (excluding Dad who had to work) went to support Jack and and his team playing Horowhenua at the Halliwell Turf.  They unfortunately lost 11-0.  It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

Jack's team once again played in Levin on 29 September at the Halliwell Hockey Turf:

Horowhenua Historical Society Inc.

The first game was vs Horowhenua; this time they please a lot better, with a final score of 5-0.

The second game was vs Manawatu which we won 2-0.  It was a great game and the parents were very excited when the goals were scored!!  Again it was a beautiful day - well worth the drive to Levin.

Todd came up after work in time to collect Jack on the motorbike and bring him home.  They went to visit Todd's Uncle Ross and had a boys road trip home.

Jack's final tournament as an U13 Rep will be the Curtis Cup.  This is a five day tournament based in Levin.    Watch this space for the update!

Olivia's Half Birthday

It was 4.30 am on Thursday morning.  The alarm clock sounded and Todd and Olivia bounded out of bed with great anticipation of a wonderful day.  Yes, the day was finally here when Olivia was getting her 1/2 Birthday Present; a day learning to ski with Dad.

A quick breakfast was had and they set off on the drive to Turoa.  They arrived as the place was opening and got the gear fitted that the needed.

Next it was lessons and then up to test out the newly learned skills (Olivia that is!).  They had a fabulous day, leaving when the mountain closed at 4pm.

Thank you to Aunty Claire and Brent for the use of your gear.  It was really helpful.

Happy Half Birthday Olivia.
