Adrenalin Forest, Porirua

It was Christmas, the children were opening their presents and what did they get from Aunty Andrea, Paul and Asha?  You would never have guessed it, vouchers to Adrenalin Forest.  What is this you ask ...  Here's the brochure:


We finally managed to get booked in with the Jenness Family and off we set to use our the vochers.  The parents decided to join in so everyone was in the same boat.  When we arrived the first thing we had to do was harness up.

Next was the demo and practice run where the instructor made sure we were doing it properly.  The most important thing was to make sure you were attached to the wire at ALL TIMES.  Here we are having a go:

Once we were "Qualified" we set off.  There were 6 levels, Dan, Aimee and Liv did the first two, I was braver and did the third, Todd, Jack, Will, Nathan, Vanessa and Nick were troopers and did Level 4.  It was very high and scarey.  William didn't complete the level as he got to the flying fox and found it too hard to clip on.  He was rescued by the operations, being absailed down about 12 metres.  I was so proud of him knowing his limits.  These are some shots we took:

 In summary of the event Olivia says ... "It was challenging, but fulfilling".  This was us chilling out at the Aotea Lagoon Park afterwards.  We were hoping for a coffee stall as a caffeine fix was in order (no luck).  I wonder what the next adventure will bring?

Hockey Trials - Queens Birthday Weekend

Jack trialled for the Under 13 boys Wellington Region team.  He gave it everything he had and a cold windy Saturday.  He came home exhausted and slept for 3 hours.  Todd was proud of him, saying "He must have left it all on the field".  We were so proud of Jack being put forward to these trials.  Unfortunately he wasn't selected, but you gave it all you had.  Maybe next year :)  Great work son.

Daniel Plays at Westpac Stadium

Daniel had his debut at Westpac Stadium tonight.  Petone U8's played Poneke as the pre-game entertainment prior to the Hurricanes talking on the Rebels

Daniel played well, even loosing at tooth in his mouth guard.  He popped the tooth into his rugby sock and carried on.  What a super star.  Todd and William were Dan's support crew, William getting to see Captain Hurricane.  Jack was away at a Scouts Leadership Course (Sandford) for the weekend and Mum and Olivia watch the game from home.  It was a great win with the Hurricanes scoring 66 points (Rebels 22ish)!

HOCKEY

Jack has found a sport that he really enjoys

He played for Hutt Intermediate last year and has started again in Year 8.  His team is a mixture of experienced and new, Year 7 and 8, boys and girls.

Jack's coach Jay Bauman is very experienced and so patient.  He is teaching them and has high expectations.

The Honey's

The Follett's were lucky to be able to host the Honey Family on their recent visit to Wellington.  It was great to meet Carter and to have their friends and family join them for a BBQ/catch up at our house.  The kids had a wonderful time meeting one another and hanging out until late.

Daniel had his class mascott for the weekend so Phoenix the Duck came to the party too.

Olivia was great looking after the young girls and William enjoyed the babies!  Here he is teaching Luke to skateboard.  Luke just turned one the day before.

Here's Carter meeting his new friend (sorry I don't know his name).  They were due at the same time but the other baby surprised everyone coming a couple of months early!

The next morning the kids enjoyed a cuddle with Carter before he left.  I think that Carter really enjoyed watching the cartoons with Will.
